about me

Caring about patients well-being

Providing tailor-made care, making short and long term improvements.

To become a regulated healthcare professional, I exchanged my previous 15 year career in the City for a full-time four year Integrated Master’s Degree at the internationally renowned European School of Osteopathy (ESO). Rigorous academic and clinical training provided me the knowledge and ability to offer every patient a full diagnosis, treatment and management plan.

Stephen McGlynn

M.Ost, D.O, BSc(Hons), S.A.C Dip.
Registered Osteopath (GOsC), Institute of Osteopathy (IO) member.

I enjoy providing structural osteopathic approaches to people of all ages – including babies, children and pregnant women.

As a professional Osteopath I draw upon a wide-spread understanding of the below topics, before considering the optimal treatment for each patient:

  • Anatomy (Prosection lectures at King’s College & Masterclasses by Professor Frank Willard)
  • Embryology, Physiology and Neural Science
  • Orthopedic Physical Assessment and Biomechanics
  • General Medical Screening, Case History Skills and Differential Diagnosis
  • Pathology,  Pharmacology, Medical Imaging and Psychology
  • Sports Osteopathy and Rehabilitation
  • Obstetric Care of Children and Pregnant Women
  • Nutrition (Lectured by founding member of the British Society for Nutritional Medicine Dr Stewart Nutrition)

Other Relevant Qualifications:

  • Sports / Remedial Massage (Level 3 ITEC)
  • Western Medical Acupuncture / Dry Needling (as an adjunctive technique to Osteopathy)
  • Orthopedic Physical Assessment and Biomechanics
  • Licensed England Athletics Assistant Coach (Level 1) at Maidstone & Medway AC

Safety and Integrity first:

It is a fact that Manual therapy is not always the most advantageous healthcare solution. As responsible contemporary Osteopath, I will not hesitate to promptly refer you to other healthcare professionals if required. This might include, writing a GP / Consultant letter or with your consent arrange for an appropriate Medical Imaging solution for more detailed diagnosis. I will readily explain any following report findings into lay or understandable terms.

Other Relevant Biography:

As a keen runner, I race distances from Park Run to the Marathon. However, for years, I had a persistent left knee pain both before and after my knee surgery in 2007. I was frustrated with the usual rehab routine and kept getting injured. So, in 2011, I decided to give Chi Running a try. And guess what? With improvements in my running technique, mobility exercises, cross-training, regular osteopathic and sports massages, I’m now running almost injury-free! Don’t believe the myth that running is bad for your knees.

Presently, I am endeavouring to complete an A-Z of full Marathon races. As ofAugust 2025, I have successfully completed 17 marathons, achieving a personal best time of 2:54:52 and running under three hours on seven occasions. I amtargeting Helsinki and Snowdonia this year.
